1 tb Teast
1/4 c Warm water
2 1/2 c Flour
1 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Soda
1 ts Salt
2 tb Sugar
1/2 c Shortening
1 c Buttermilk
Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside. Mix dry ingredients and
cut in shortening until the size of peas. Stir in buttermilk and
yeast mixtureCover bowl and let sit until ready to use at least one
hour. Dough will be sticky, Scrape out onto well floured board, flip
over and knead 4 or 5 times. Roll out and cut with biscuit cutter.
Place on greased pan and let rise slightly 10 -30 minutes. Bake at
400 F 10 – 12 minutes.
