16 c Cucumber — sliced abt 4 lbs 5 c Cider vinegar
6 c Onions — thinly sliced 1 1/2 ts Turmeric
1/2 c Salt 1 1/2 ts Celery seed
Ice cubes 1 1/2 ts Mustard seed
5 c Sugar
Combine cucumber and onion slices in a large bowl. Layer with salt;
cover with ice cubes. Let stand 1-1/2 hours. Drain and rinse. Place
remaining ingredients in a kettle and bring to a boil. Add cucumbers
and onions. Return to a boil. Pack hot into hot jars to within 1/4
in. of top. Remove any air bubbles. Adjust caps. Process 15 minutes
in boiling-water bath. Yield: about 6 pints.
