Old Herefordshire Cider Cake

Ingrients & Directions


8 oz Flour 1/2 ea Grated nutmeg
4 oz Sugar 1 Teacup of cider
1/4 lb Butter 1 ea Level Tspn baking soda
2 ea Eggs

Beat the butter and sugar into a cream. . Add the eggs, well beaten,
then the 4 oz of flour sifted with the baking soda and nutmeg. . Pour
over all the cider, beaten to a froth. Mix thoroughly. . Stir in
remainder of the flour and mix well together. . Bake in a shallow,
well-greased tin, for 45 minutes in a moderate oven.
