2 c Flour
1/2 ts Salt
1 ts Soda
1 c Butter; or shortening
1 c Sugar
1/2 c Dates; chopped
2 ea Eggs
1/4 c Orange juice
2 tb Orange rind; grated
1 ts Vanilla
2 c Rolled oats
1/2 c Nuts; chopped/your choice
Sift the dry ingredients. Cream the butter (or shortening) together
with sugar, until light and fluffy. Add the well beaten eggs, orange
juice and rind, vanilla and mix well. Add the remaining ingredients
and mix well. Drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees
for about 15 minutes.—–Barb
