Polverones (mexican Wedding Cookies)

Ingrients & Directions


1/2 c Butter or margarine 2 c All-purpose flour, sifted
1/2 c Shortening 3/4 c Nuts, finely chopped
1 ts Vanilla Confectioner’s sugar
1/2 c Confectioners’ sugar

Preheat oven to 425 deg f. In medium mixing bowl, cream butter or
margarine, shorthening, and vanilla until fluffy. Mix the 1/2 cup
confectioner’s sugar, flour, and nuts togethert; add to creamed
mixture, stirring to form a soft dough. Shape dough into small balls
and place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake cookies about 10 minutes,
or until lightly brown. Roll warm cookies in confectioner’s sugar.
