4 c All purpose flour
1/2 ts Salt
1 ts Baking soda
2 1/2 ts Cinnamon
2 ts Allspice
2 ts Nutmeg
2 ts Ground cloves
4 Eggs (3 if very large)
2 c Sugar
1 1/2 c Vegetable oil
1 c Chopped pecans (optional)
8 c Finely chopped apples (I use
-granny smith or roma
-apples)
3 tb Vanilla

This recipe was given to me by my husbands grandmother and it is so good!!
Sift together all the dry ingredients. In seperate bowl blend the eggs,
sugar, vanilla and oil. Add the sifted dry ingredients to the egg mixture.
The batter will be very stiff. Stir in the nuts and apples. Pour into a
greased and lightly floured loaf pan and bake for 1-1/2 hours in a 325
degree oven. Let the cake cool before removing it from the pan. Cover cake
to keep moist.
