1 c Butter or margarine
2 c Sugar
4 Eggs; one at a time
3 1/2 c Flour
1 ts Soda
1 ts Salt
2 tb Grated orange rind
8 oz Dates or white raisins
2 c Chopped pecans
19 Pieces orange slice candy;
-sliced in half
1/2 c Buttermilk
Icing
1 c Orange juice
2 c Sifted powdered sugar
2 tb Grated orange rind
CAKE: Mix as for any cake. Bake in greased & floured tube pan at 250 for
2-1/2 to 3 hours. ICING: Mix ingredients & beat well to blend. As soon as
cake is removed from oven, pour icing over cake & let cool in pan. Run
knife around edge of cake & turn out when cool.
