Cook raisins till soft in water. Add 1 cup sugar or enough to
sweeten. Add a little vinegar to taste and thicken with cornstarch
mixed with a little water to make a paste. Mix shortening, baking
soda, salt, brown sugar and flour like you do for pie crust. Grease
pan and put crumbs in bottom. Pour on raisin mixture, put rest of
crumbs on top. Bake in a quick oven. Serve with ice cream or whipped
cream.
Many of the recipes in this collection did not contain amounts or oven
temperatures. I have typed them in as they appear in the book, typos
and all.
