———————–FOR THE CHOCOLATE DOUGH———————–
225 g Butter
175 g Golden caster sugar
275 g Plain flour
1 ts Baking powder
50 g Cocoa powder
1 Take two bowls, one for each dough. Put the butter into each bowl
and soften with a wooden spoon. Add the vanilla dough ingredients to
one bowl and the chocolate dough ingredients to the other, use a
spoon to bring the mixture together.
2 Use your hands to knead each dough until smooth. Break each into
quarters, take a quarter of each and push the two pieces together.
Roll into a long roll so that the chocolate and vanilla dough mix
together. Repeat with the remaining dough, creating different
patterns of white and chill for 1 hour. Preheat the oven to
190c/375f/Gas 5. Cut the dough into thin slices, place well apart on
a baking tray and bake for 15 minutes. Set on greaseproof paper and
serve or wrap and give as a gift.
