1/2 c Margarine
2 oz Unsweetened chocolate
1 1/2 c Flour
1/2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/4 ts Salt
1 c Brown sugar; packed
1/2 c Buttermilk
1 lg Egg
1 ts Vanilla
1 c Chocolate chips
1/2 c Walnuts; chopped
FROSTING
1/4 c Margarine; softened
2 tb Cocoa
2 1/2 c Powdered sugar
2 ts Instant coffee
1 ds Salt
1/4 c Milk; approximately
Cookies: Melt margarine & chocolate together. Cool. 10 minutes. Add brown
sugar to chocolate mixture. Add egg, vanilla & buttermilk. Add dry
ingredients. Stir in chips & nuts. Drop on lightly greased cookie sheets.
Bake 375F for 8 – 10 minutes. Cool; frost.
Frosting: Blend all ingredients together. Use only enough milk to make
frosting spreadable.
