Cranberry Button Cookies

Ingrients & Directions


2 c Flour
1 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Gbround ginger
1/2 ts Ground nutmeg
1/2 ts Salt
3 c Quick cooking oats
1 c Shortening
1 1/2 c Fresh cranberries; ground
1 1/2 c Firmly packed brown sugar

Combine flour, baking soda, ginger, nutmeg, salt and oats. Cut in
shortening until particles are very fine. Add cranberries and brown sugar.
Mix until well blended. Chill 1 hour. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness
and cut into 3-inch rounds. Bake on greased cookie sheets at 375 degrees
for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on rack.
