3 oz Sugar; (3/8 cup)
4 oz Butter; (1/2 cup)
2 Eggs
10 oz Flour; (2 1/4 cups)
2 ts Baking powder
1 ts Vanilla extract
Cream sugar and butter, then beat in other ingredients. Chill dough three
or four hours before rolling, for best results. Bake in 375 degrees F (Reg
5) oven for 7-12 minutes or until just golden. These can be glazed with a
mixture of icing and a little milk and decorated as desired.
This dough can be cut out into seasonal shapes – bells, Christmas stars,
trees, Easter eggs, etc. If possible, use a pastry cloth and flour the
rolling pin before rolling our.
