Party Starter Layered Dip

Ingrients & Directions


1/2 pk Philadelphia Brand Cream
-Cheese, softened (4 oz)
2 cn Pinto beans or black beans,
-rinsed, drained and
-mashed (15 oz)
1 c Pace Picante Sauce
1 ts Ground cumin
1 ts Chili powder
1/2 ts Garlic salt
1 c Shredded Monterey Jack or
-Cheddar cheese (4 oz)
1/2 c Chopped mixed red and green
-bell peppers

OPTIONAL GARNISHES
Chopped tomato
Sliced ripe olives
Chopped cilantro
Chopped avocado

Made in minutes in the microwave, this creamy bean dip boasts big,
bold, crowd-pleasing flavors and serape-bright colors – just right
for a party.

Place cream cheese in 1 1/2 to 2 quart microwaveable bowl; microwave
at HIGH 30-45 seconds or until softened. Add mashed beans, 1/2 of the
Pace Picante Sauce, cumin, chili powder and garlic salt; mix well.
Spread into 9″ pie plate or shallow microwaveable bowl. Top evenly
with remaining 1/2 cup Pace Picante Sauce. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup of
the cheese and bell peppers. Cover loosely with wax paper. Microwave
4-5 minutes or until hot, turning plate 1/4 turn after 2 minutes.
Sprinkle with remaining cheese and garnish as desired. Serve warm
with chips or vegetable dippers. Makes 6-8 servings.
